I have been following a thread on our Bay Area AX board. Chris Cox appears to be working on putting together a sponsored SCCA California Divison Championship. Cash money prizes, tire contingencies, etc. I know a lot of fast drivers never go to Topeka for nationals but this would be a very cool series of events if they pull it together as more of the real fast drivers from the state would be available to run.

Hey JP this might be a great opportunity for you. The Nor Cal event will be held at Atwater.

Sounds like this event will be a go with sponsors etc. Only issue I see is the two events in So Cal two weekends in a row.

But I suspect this event will attract the some outstanding competition. I also think it would be a great event to stack with fast 914's across a couple classes.

Randal are you game for this one?

Here are latest details from the baautox.com site:

The San Diego and LA events are back to back weekends. The San
Diege event is first on the 12-13 of July and El-Toro is the following weekend July 19-20. You will be able to store your rig
at El Toro the week in between. Jerry is still working on the
web pages and Brian is working on the on line registration.

Sponsors look real good so far. Kuhmo, Hoosier, Mazda, Subi and
others.

Got to use that new SCCA membership I just bought. We need to run a few SCCA events before..... just hoping for dry weather.

Only thing I can think of right now is that it might conflict with Hoopa or be so close to Hoopa that it might not be practical.

I'm at least going to try to go to the Atwater portion of this 3 event series.
