QUOTE What is the configuration and power rating of the Audi T1.8? Inline Turbo 4, 5 valves per cylinder, 9-1 compression. I beleve they were at 180 from the factory, with a tiny kkk turbo. With say a gt3076, full boost by 3700, 500whp@ with a gt35 full boost at 42-4500 600whp@ ~75-8000rpms Of course this is with all the supporting mods to support 5-600whp. heres the link to the car the swap came out of... Dave Cafros a board member. http://www.914club.com/bbs2/index.php?show...186&hl=audiBrad, you have a pm comming your way. David

QUOTE Randal, My Audi A4 1.8T dyno'd at 225 HP and 250 ft/lbs of torque just with a chip upgrade and an intake. The 1.8T can easily be made to make 300 HP with stock turbo and crazy numbers with a big turbo.
I'd love to see pic of the 1.8t mated to the Boxster tranny in this car. You will soon. I need to get it in asap so i can start working on the underbody/diffuser that im going to be working on. The block has a scorched bore, so im debating weather to buy a new block, or rebuild.. Im leaning more towards new.. that way while im collecting parts/building the motor, i can work on the aero with the old motor in. D

Brad, you were right... the tip adaptor looks like a match to the cayenne bolt pattern.... SWEEET. As to the lozano bros.... do you have contact info for them? I found the phone no, but no email or webpage. D

Its my first track only car. Ive had a monster street/track MR2 (380whp) and a 944t, but this is my first really serious car.
I looked into doing a 6, but really the power just isent there. Even if you go with a 3.6, your still talking around 300-350hp max. It would be a fun fast car, no dought, but my 914 is just built for insane power. I found Dave Cafros engine swap for a killer deal, and since im used to building turbo 4 cylinders, it seemed perfect. The audi swap actually is really good. It bolts strait up to the boxster trans, and the engine weighs around 300lbs with all accesories, except the intercooler. The 3.6 in comparison weighs ~450 lbs
If you have the dough, id do the the cayenne right off the bat, but your gonna be spending uber bucks to get your car to handle 500whp and not constantly break things.

QUOTE Okay - Thats better - So I will build it to handle 500 to 700 WHP and we will go from there - I will keep my eye open for a totaled Cayenne. What trans Brad? G50 trans, with the 996tt tiptronic adaptor plate between the trans and engine. You may have to modify the firewall... lucky for me, its already been done on my car. D
