Anyone know if I can register an out of state 1974 914 with carbs in California? Would I need to re install the FI? Thanks.

California, like the other 49 states, is concerned with your vehicle's pollution, not the fuel delivery system. However, California has long been tougher on cars than the other states and had tougher standards. You could have it checked to see if it met standards for its production year and proceed from there. Good luck!
