So, the 1976 914 ignition assembly doesn't pull out with the two screws like the earlier models. The ignition housing is cast as part of the steering column bearing support assembly. I can not figure out how to remove the key tumbler. I hope someone has info regarding this as well as the correct replacement key and tumbler assembly to purchase.

you will have to drill a small hole inbetween the parallel bars. You can see a picture in the "Tech Tips 700" book. After you drill the hole you can push a small round tool in to release the tension clip.
