Another new nailed thread. TRIM LEVELS.

What do you have for app grp/non app grp trim. Exterior & interior. Includes wheels too, if app grp pieces.

Late (August) '72 delivery.

Rectractable belts
Bilstein jack

App Grp:
Mouse fuzz headliner
Loop carpeting
Vinyl rollbar/sailpanel trim
F & R chrome bumpers
Fogs
5 1/2J x 15 steel wheels w/165/78 Mickys

No radio
Free dealer rustproofing (midwest)
FREE side stripes

Total cost $4,295 plus T&T

The pic is 5 minutes after I brought it home. It's poor quality (it was 1972 after all) & taken with a Fuji half-lens camera at low res.

No pics, but my '71 1.7 was very original, it had the Appearance Group package.

It had:

Chrome bumpers
Fog lights
Vinyl trim on the sails
The "turned aluminum" door sill protectors
Mouse fuzz headliner
Loop carpeting
"Solid" vinyl seats (no waffle pattern on the inserts)

No anti-sway bars
Not sure what wheels it originally came with

MY 73' 914 according to a local Porsche dealer had the following:

Built Jan. 1973,Standard equipment plus options #401 Mahle alloy wheels, #540 extra air vents(?), Metallic paint,1.7 ltr engine and 5 speed trans..

When I bought the car,she was wearing Pedrini alloys and also aluminum door sills. I don't know if the sills are original to the car or later. They were in good shape when purchased in 86'. According to Porsche I'm the second owner. Cheers,Dion

I'll try to find an old pic.

Re Department of Transfiguration.....DOT..
Required
It was a 'safety' selling point for Porsche...
And added 7 to 8lbs to each door starting in 73..
Round 3rd/4th month of production.. or so..
Along with the new and improved window scissor lift..I really do need to weigh
each type of door to REALLY find the weight diff!!
I finally found the blurp IN JOHNSONS BOOK..
NO PICS....but page 35....
If you are racing/autoXing..that few month period where they
had the scissor lift and no side impact rail is the 'bomb' door..
OR you could go to Europe and pick them up with no rails!!!!! (IMG:http://www.914club.com/bbs2/style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
