Need to verify the location/orientation and type of charcoal canister for my 75 1.8. I believe it clamps to the battery tray, but does it sit upright and parallel to the battery? Can any canister be used? How about the bracket that holds the canister-silver or black?

Thanks!
Paul

funny they changed the 1.8 from 74 to 75. It is upright on the side of the battery and its clamp shares the bolt with the battery clamp. The charcoal clamp is silver. The canister is plastic and on the later 914s the bracket unique for the 75 76 models.

George thanks-the one I have has two angled sides on it, but presume that's from the earlier models to 74 for the front installation? And if I recall from my 76 it was a rectangular canister with no angled sides.

If it is plastic it is probably the correct one.
