We are doing a light refresh on a nepal orange 76 914 california car. The color is really what sets this car off. We have serviced it, done minor restoration items, like recovering the original seats and installing the orange plaid inserts, and will be installing a new windshield as it was glued in and had to be cut out, so of course broke in the process. There were just too many touchups needed so we decided to repaint, so what you see is the car stripped and almost ready for paint. We will base coat clear coat this car, then sand and buff, finally adding negative black side stripes and a limited edition spoiler. This 914 will be shockingly beautiful when finished as the color is so nice and along with the fuchs wheels and low profile tires, really stands out Wait until you see pics of the orange plaid seats!!!!Attached File  IMG_1998.jpg ( 86.9K ) Number of downloads: 5

we will have this car back at the shop next week and will then reassemble with the beautiful recovered orange plaid seats, a new windshield and windshield chrome, new Bursch exhaust, black negative side stripes, new limited edition spoiler, new rubber seals as necessary, and new door panels. We have already fully serviced this car so that it will be perfect for its new ownerAttached File  IMG_2600.jpg ( 76.85K ) Number of downloads: 2

the reassembly begins! After our continued cleaning, we installed a new windshield new dash buck new upper dash new windshield chrome and are now cleaning under the tank, replacing the fuel lines and testing the wiper motor and fresh air motor and cleaning. This car has intermittent windshield wipers as well. Just wait until we are ready to install those orange plaid seats!!!!! This will make a great 914 for some lucky buyerAttached File  IMG_2728.jpg ( 2.12MB ) Number of downloads: 8

almost ready with this one, someone will get a very nice car. German loop carpet kit very very similar to the original, period correct Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, and great attention to detail will make this nepal orange 76 stand out from the restAttached File  IMG_2806.jpg ( 3.14MB ) Number of downloads: 12

looks nice, I have been doing same light refresh on my Copper Metallic car, maybe a little deeper in that I had to do more rust and body work, strip off an old bad repaint etc. That orange looks super! was that just single stage paint George or base and clear? not much choice on the
metallic copper, - we did 3 passes of base and 3 clear. , a single stage would have been easier, but that's what my car was originally and wht I wanted to go back to- It sure takes longer to put it all back than it did to strip it down!!
BTW doc do you have kits for the mount hardware etc for front and rear valance? I saw one for the longs which I will be ordering today. I got my new outer rocker panels earlier in the year from you, and will be putting them back on soon.

we these days always do base coat clear coat, it is the way to go, and the paint will last for a long long time, with only a bit of gentle care.

the valance front and rear kits are about 15 each and of course include the factory spacers
