Transit advertising is the placing of ads in or on transport vehicles and transport precincts. It not only garners a large viewership but also ensures a definite reception as it cannot be skipped or turned over! Advertising is imperative for the growth of any business, and consecutively, taxis, train and bus advertising agencies have flourished to be an efficient medium to assist in advertising.

Transit advertising is undoubtedly a very successful method of advertising. With wide coverage, long exposure, geographical focus, and fair cost, it is perhaps the most extensive format of advertising. Ads on buses, trains, metros, stations, stops, surveys, junctions, etc. are instant eye-catchers and hard to miss.

Types of Transit advertising

Indoor transit advertising:
Refers to ads placed inside the transit vehicle or the transit shelters. The viewership is concentrated on the people traveling through these transports.
Outdoor transit advertising:
Ads are placed on transit vehicles. Ideally possessing more coverage, it can be classified into roof ads and lateral ads. Roof ads are displayed on the roof of the transport vehicle and are useful in heavily-crowded areas with multi-storeyed structures. Lateral ads are placed on the sides of the vehicle and focus more on publicizing to the people commuting on the roads.
Static advertising:
As posters, stickers or even pamphlets, this category includes paper-based advertising that is stuck or painted on the vehicle surface.
Digital advertising:
It includes led screens that run the ads throughout the commute period. With the ease of monitoring, this method is convenient as it can screen brief videos ads instead of just a single frame of static ads. Bus advertising agencies have initiated the installation of led screens in public buses.

Conceivably the most wide-ranging mass publication, transit advertising performs at its best on buses. Statistically, it has the maximum viewer -scope as the number of people taking the bus from various locations is proportionally huge. Also, buses cruise on the road, and hence people who travel by their own vehicles will also notice the ads as they drive along. Not only do the people who drive are audience to the ads, but also the people who walk by, sitting inside road-facing complexes or people stationed in balconies can also view the ads. Trains and metros have comparatively lesser visibility, as they run on specific tracks.

As buses navigate through most parts of the city, a diverse population is exposed to the ads. The most convenient form of transit advertising is to through a Bus advertising agency, that is specifically functioning to promote ads on buses.
