SOLD!!!1970 914-6 engine, *6405074* would like to trade for later, larger 911 engine for a bastard project. Engine has Zenith carbs, but incorrect fan should & no exhaust. Other options & trades will be considered.I would like to see this engine go back in a proper Porsche. Byron me911bvd@aol.com
Well, I've been offered a 914 that I was told would never be sold, this 914 has a special meaning to me, but I'll have to free up both funds & Space!! With that being said, my trick 914 project is now fow sale. I'm was building a 4 banger teener for street & auto X fun. It at one time belonged a FL. 914 guru name Jay Richardson, who owned RPM in Port Orange. This was the "Turbo Charged 2.0" back in the day, that is until he sold it to a guy who worked for him who blew the engine A few things make this 914 chassis worth while. 1 71, so it is a lighter teener, with "pulled rear 1/4s" so you can fit much wider wheels in the back & still look stock. This is a solid rust free car. 2 To keep the teener light, stock styled glass bumpers (installed) and glass front & rear deck lids (not installed), 3 Engine, most parts to build up a 2.5 Type IV. Small Earls front oil cooler & lines, never used. Small Acusump included too. Tranny is a 73 side shift, stock. 4 Susp & brakes, Konis with raised spindle front struts, front rotors (none of the new brakes are installed) are brand new, German, that were slotted then Cryo treated and 4" 930 wheel studs pressed in (rear hubs too) so when running the stock 2.0 Fuchs, they can be spaced out, giving a wider track. BMW front calipers and fronts moved to the rear, rear springs, & Welt 22mm front sway bar all included to finish it up. Int. is just plain stock, recovered black. Anyone who remembers Jay & RPM when he and the shop were in the prime know what kind of cars & engines they built, and this being Jay's personal demo car, had lots of neat tricks. I will not part this car and it is not a fire sale. Price reflects the value of the parts. $6K
For many years I have been collecting parts and building my 914-6GT clone. Well, now it is time to start putting the car together. The engine is ready, a twin plug 3.0 built by iSystems. Gary Stratton of Stratton Motorsports will be adding the NOS factory steel flairs, making the mods to the front trunk for the RSR oil cooler, maybe even a cage. To really step up the clone, I have a set of RSR Cribie hood mount fog lights going on it too. The int. I have for concours, a rare 914 Recaro sport seat, and Konigs for the rest of the time, a 12" MOMO steering wheel & knob, a factory 914-6 dash & steering colum, I am drifting from stock by using a pair of Getty Design door panels and carbon fiber dash insets. The engine a twin plug 3.0 built by iSystems with custom P&Cs, cams, 46 Webers, Jet Hot coated headers & factory style stainless Sport muffler. Cooling by a factory center mounted RSR oil cooler, factory oil tank and lots of Earls braided lines & fittings. Susp. & Wheels 1988 930 front susp. & brakes with Bilsteins shocks, Velios upgraded rear control arms for the 930 rear brakes, all susp powder coated. Custom sperical bearings up from with stainless housings, custom bump steer kit, hollow 23 mm front t-bars, TARETT ENGINEERING Front Swaybar Assy. Factory 6 (off the Brumos 59 car rear sway bar. For street, 7&9X16 factory 930 Fuchs, for concours, 8&9X15 Factory Fuchs. Chassis was race prepared with Brad's long-tude panels and factory bits by Debra Greg Motorsports (yes, Peter Gregs widow) The big thanks go to iSystems' Levon Pentacost for building the engine to where it should be, Powder Tech Plus' Richard Pitman & Howard Cook for powder coating just about everything thaty could be coated, Gary Stratton of Stratton Motorsports for the body work & paint (going above & beyond to help make a very importand deadline), Buddy Kennedy of Brumos Porsche, Floyd English and most importantly, my very good friend Phil Sparta, whom started this car and is the reason for me building it to the level it is. Many others have been a great help as well, but without the guys listed above, this GT would have never reached the level it has. UPDATE The 914-6 just went Stratton Motorsports to have the factory steel flares installed and the RSR hood mounted fog lights and modify the front bumper & build a box for the RSR front oil cooler. The engine for my 914-6GT clone.
Porches, Projects, Parts & Wanted!!! I am looking to get rid of almost all my cars & stuff, I just want to keep my 2 SCs, 914-6GT clone, 76 914, 87 924S & 88 Carrera, and the parts to finish the ones needing to be finish. This would be a great start for someone wanting to get into the Porsche parts biz. I just don't have time as our other company is keeping me too busy to play with my hobby and after over 20 years, I just have more than I can deal with at this time. Willing to accept trades too for late model Porsche, need a inground pool, what ever. More than is listed here, I just don't have time to go through & list everything. On the wanted list, cars UNDERLINED are the ones with the assorted parts I've been collecting for them that I'm keeping. Porches, Projects, Parts & Wanted!!! 944 Track car with Broadfoot Racing bodywork (the bodywork has Daytona race history) fiberglass hood, lexan windshield and rear hatch, GT Lemans wing. It is a stock engine except a chip Broadfoot K&N cone filter kit, Jet-Hot coated headers,Broadfoot Stainless exhaust and Welt. throttle cam. Broadfoot billet euro style alt, mount, Broadfoot billet power pulleys, Full custom cage with nascar door guards, 28MM front Welt bar, strut brace, have adj Konis and 951 brakes, haven't installed them yet, but they are part of the package. 2 sets of 7&8X16 Phone dials, 2 sets of 7X15 phone dials for auto-X, TRG drivers set finishes it out. Because of these mild mods, it would have to run GT4 in PCA and SPO in SCCA. It is a very fun and reliable DE car. Also have stock 951 bodywork if needed 88 951S Caged race car tub!!! I have a straight, nice clean BARE 88 951S caged tub. This tub includes carbon fiber fenders & roof skin (has the non-sunroof look), carbon nose, lexan windshield, rear hatch , glass B-wing, fact Euro rear bumper, some susp., Turbo Cup style strut brace, fully caged, connected at susp points. Have most rear susp. This is a clean, tub with good paint and clear title but would be a ton of work to return to street. One of 718 that came to the US in 1988, and one of 62 Black 944 Turbo "S" Porsche's delivered in 1988. This is a big project but if you crashed your Turbo, a great way to move up. Open to trades, need an enclosed Trailex or an open one for one car, shop tools, race parts for my other cars, ect. 1976 Wide Body 911 Steel flared, rust free roller. No crash or rust damage, have all lights & glass, most int including a fiberglass dash, choice of stock or 935 style front spoiler. I was going to back date this to a 73 RSR, but another project replaced it. Could be a nice street car or a base great track car. BMW front calipers and fronts moved to the rear, and a reinforsed pair of rear trailing arms, & Welt 22mm front sway bar all included to finish it up. 5 Int. is just plain stock black, with a later 911 4 spoke wheel.
